Soul, jazz, and gospel that touches your soul, that's Lizz Wright. Her warm and soulful sound, combined with her ability to convey deep emotion, makes her music genuine and moving. Wright's music is filled with influences from various genres, including jazz, soul, gospel, and folk. Things have been going well for Wright since she was noticed in 2000 for her contribution to a Billie Holiday tribute. She immediately got a record deal and gave fantastic shows worldwide. Several music magazines described her as a promising talent. And that has proven to be true!

In 2003, she released her soulful debut album "Salt," which received rave reviews and reached number 2 on the Billboard Top Contemporary Jazz Chart. And that was just the beginning. Lizz has since released five beautiful studio albums and has collaborated with artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Gregory Porter, Terence Blanchard, and Toots Thielemans. In June 2022, Lizz released her first album, a live album even, under her own record label Blues & Greens Records. Listen to it below!

Lizz Wright is set to release her new album "Shadow" on April 12, 2024. As a teaser for the album, she released the first single, "Sweet Feeling," on October 6, 2023. In addition to her own beautiful songs, she also covers songs by artists she admires, including "Sweet Feeling" by Candi Staton. Lizz shares, "I first heard Candi Staton as a child because of her gospel singing, which my father loved. I didn't realize that she also sang contemporary music until years later. Her voice is like no other and sounds honest and at home in anything she sings, no matter the genre."
