Double bassist, singer, and composer Avishai Cohen is globally regarded as one of the most influential bassists of our time. Over the past twenty-five years, he has become one of the heavyweights of contemporary jazz. Since being discovered by Chick Corea, he has collaborated with big names such as Bobby McFerrin and Alicia Keys. Yet, it is perhaps Avishai Cohen's own compositions and his physical playing style that leave the most lasting impression. Today, he is known for his unmistakable style and technical perfection. Place this bass hero alongside the Metropole Orkest and chief conductor Jules Buckley, and an unforgettable evening is guaranteed. Together, they will perform both new compositions and Cohen's most beautiful works.

Cohen's musical style is shaped by influences from jazz, classical, Middle Eastern, and Latin American music. After moving to New York and breaking through in 1997 with Chick Corea, he quickly released his first album "Adama," establishing himself as a promising talent in the jazz world. Today, Cohen is known for his dynamic trio performances, but tonight he takes our stage for the first time with the enchanting Metropole Orkest.
