30 years ago, the masters of swing, Benjamin Herman and DJ Graham B, first took the stage together. Today, the New Cool Collective is an 8-piece jazz powerhouse that tours the world. Their well-known danceable mix of jazz, soul, cumbia, and African music draws attention, as do their collaborations with Tony Allen, Mapacha Africa, Andrew Roachford, Jules Deelder, Typhoon, Guus Meeuwis, Matt Bianco, Thierno Koité, and Georgie Fame. Tonight, on the eve of So What's Next 2024, you'll enjoy the first live performance of the new album the band is releasing this fall.

It all began in 1993 at the Amsterdam Soul Kitchen, where Benjamin Herman and DJ Graham B took the stage together. While Graham B spun records, Benjamin played. This unique combination eventually led to the formation of the eight-piece New Cool Collective, a band that has performed countless times in leading clubs and festivals worldwide in its permanent eight-member lineup.

In early 2024, New Cool Collective celebrated their 30th anniversary with sold-out concerts in venues such as TivoliVredenburg and Paradiso. This spring, they released the EP '30 Years Live' from these concerts. This fall, the band will release a brand-new studio album followed by a club tour, with the first full-length live show in Eindhoven!

New Cool Collective consists of saxophonist Benjamin Herman, guitarist Rory Ronde, drummer Joost Kroon, percussionists Frank van Dok and Jos de Haas, keyboardist Willem Friede, bassist Leslie Lopez, and trumpeter David Rockefeller.
