Music from the Orient is a performance where the rich musical heritage from the eastern Mediterranean region, Anatolia, the Levant, and the Balkans is presented. Founded in 2017 in Eindhoven as a project by Mercan & Bülent Kocuroǧlu, Başak Ebret, and Önder Babur, Music from the Orient covers a wide range of music styles and languages, including Turkish, Kurdish, Arabic, Greek, Ladino, and languages from the Balkans. The aim of Music from the Orient is to bring people from different backgrounds and cultures together, and they have already organized numerous multicultural events, especially in Eindhoven, but also throughout the rest of the Netherlands.

During the evening, you will be warmly welcomed in a cozy living room atmosphere, with the band also acting as the host. Throughout the year, they explore various musical themes and countries, and occasionally invite guest musicians. The band takes you on a journey, immersing you in the warmth of the music, and each time, you experience an evening with a unique theme.

Special guest: Anil Dural

Anil Dural is an Eindhoven-based musician with Turkish roots, who has over the years played in various settings and dabbled in different genres. These influences have converged into playing acoustic arrangements of alternative rock songs, both originals and covers, alternated with some mellow and bluesy sounds. Tonight, songs in either both Turkish and English will pass by.
