This year, the Eindhoven Symphony Orchestra is celebrating its 55th anniversary with an exciting program from the "New World". The concert opens with the widely known "Sing, sing, sing" by Louis Prima/Benny Goodman, in a rousing arrangement by conductor Quentin Clare. George Gershwin's Piano Concerto, from start to finish, is quintessentially American and one of his most performed works. The concert is a colorful collection of moods, feelings, and atmospheres that are skillfully combined into three parts.

The name of Dvořák's 9th Symphony, "From the New World," is derived from the term "New World" used in Europe to refer to the continent of America. He composed the symphony during his stay in the United States, and it is part of the "iron repertoire" of the most performed works in classical music. Dvořák incorporates folk melodies from African-American spirituals in parts of the symphony.

David Kooi (born 2009) is a highly talented young pianist, just 15 years old. He won the first edition of "de Muziekwedstrijd," the junior version of the Princess Christina Competition, at the age of 7. He repeated this feat in the Corona year 2021; in 2022, David won the first prize at the national finals of the Princess Christina Competition and the second prize at the International Steinway Piano Competition. David is currently studying with Frank van de Laar at the Sweelinck Academy in Amsterdam.
