The Hammond soul band The Pulitzers consists of drummer Salle de Jonge, guitarist Bas van der Wal, percussionist Phil Martin, and Hammond organ player Frank Montis. Their music is an engaging fusion of soul, funk, and rhythm-and-blues, with the raw Hammond and guitar driven by rhythmic percussion and drums. Inspired by legends like The Meters, Jimmy McGriff, and Booker T, The Pulitzers perform their own original songs with a single goal: to ignite a fire! When these four dedicated musicians play together, sparks fly.

After the release of the two singles 'Honk Honk' and 'Sun Trippin' in 2023, the debut album 'Honk Honk' was released on March 1, 2024. This album introduces a quartet consisting of a Hammond organ, guitar, drums, and percussion that take you through the depths of soul, funk, and jazz. The instrumental album contains 9 tracks, ranging from serene melodies to explosive soul-funk.

Hammond organist Frank Montis boasts a rich history with numerous jazz and dance-oriented groups, such as Montis, Goudsmit & Directie, and Gare du Nord. Drummer Salle de Jonge is known for his work with artists like Sabrina Starke and Jan van Duikeren's Fingerprint. Bas van der Wal is often seen enchanting audiences with his smooth guitar playing alongside the New Cool Collective. Add the sharp percussion of Phil Martin to the mix, and you have an unstoppable quartet!

Every other Saturday, established names and surprisingly emerging talent from the contemporary jazz and soul scene take turns in an informal club setting at Blue Note ClubSessions. At M, the focus is on combining socializing with enjoying top-notch live music.

The ClubCard itself does not grant access to the concert, so make sure to order your tickets beforehand. The ClubCard is valid for all Blue Note ClubSessions in the 2023/2024 season, which runs until July 2024.

Timetable

The doors of M open at 4:00 PM, where you can already enjoy a drink and the music of a jazz DJ. The live concert starts at 5:00 PM and will last until 6:15 PM. To wrap up the event nicely, the jazz DJ will play until 7:00 PM.
