Alexander Jansen was born in 2005 in Utrecht. He received piano lessons early on from his mother, piano teacher E. Jansen, Professor Marjes Benoist, Thomas Beyer (winner of the "Dutch Music Prize"), and the renowned American/Ukrainian piano professor S. Edelmann. In addition to playing the piano, he also composes his own music. From 2015 to 2023, Alexander was part of the Muzikaal Talent Academy for young talent at the Utrecht Conservatoire. Currently, Alexander is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in piano. In the spring of 2022, Alexander was chosen by the famous pianist Lang Lang, out of thousands of young pianists from around the world, to be the only European pianist to participate in the Scholarship of the "Lang Lang Foundation."

During his musical development, Alexander achieved the following:

  • Multiple awards at international competitions in Amsterdam, Antwerp, and Switzerland.
  • As the winner of the Spotlight Competition, he performed with the Concertgebouw Orchestra.
  • Featured on TV in the programme "Podium Witteman."
  • Performances and recitals in venues including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht, and De Nieuwe Kerk in The Hague.
  • Participation in international festivals in New York, Switzerland, and Oxford.

Lunchtime concerts are a delicious break in the middle of your day, and you can take this literally! An hour of lovely music in our Small Hall. From piano recitals to chamber music and wind instruments, we offer a varied and refreshing programme. Because we think it's important to offer a stage to budding talent, you'll find recently graduated musicians and competition winners performing for you.
